1. Does Whisper work for all types of hearing loss?

The Whisper Hearing System is for adults with mild to severe hearing loss. It is not indicated for profound hearing loss, unilateral hearing loss, mixed hearing loss, single-sided deafness or for use with children. Please consult an audiologist, hearing care professional, or physician to see if the Whisper Hearing System is right for you.

2. Is Whisper for children?

The Whisper Hearing System is not intended for use with children.

3. What’s included with the Whisper Hearing System?

The Whisper Hearing System includes the Whisper Brain and two earpieces. It also comes with accessories such as the Whisper Brain charger and USB cable, an earpiece carrying case, earpiece cleaning tool, wax guards, and an owners manual. Whisper also provides a mobile app. The system is available via a simple monthly plan that includes a 3 year lease of the Whisper Hearing System, ongoing care from a local hearing care professional, regular software upgrades, and a 3 year warranty.

4. Has the FDA cleared the Whisper Hearing System?

Whisper is regulated by the FDA, and the hearing system is manufactured and marketed in accordance with FDA requirements.

5. Can my current hearing aids work with the Whisper Brain or earpieces?

The Whisper Hearing System is designed from the ground-up as a complete system, with proprietary software and hardware. The Whisper Brain and earpieces are not compatible with other hearing aids.

6. Can Whisper work for tinnitus treatment?

At this time, the Whisper Hearing System does not support tinnitus treatment.

2. How do I turn the earpieces on and off?

Each Whisper Hearing System comes with two earpieces that are powered by a 675 battery. Before inserting the battery into the earpiece, remove the protective film and allow the battery to sit for 3-5 minutes. This will extend the battery life. Ten carefully pull on the tab at the bottom of the battery tray so it opens. Place a 675 hearing aid battery into the tray with its positive side facing up. The earpiece will automatically turn on once the tray is closed. You should turn the earpiece off when not in use. The battery is not rechargeable and will need to be replaced every few days.

3. How can you tell which earpiece is for each ear?

The right earpiece has a red tip, and the left, a blue tip. To put the hearing aids on, gently insert the domed tip at the end of the speaker wire into your ear canal, wrapping the remainder of the wire around the top of your ear so that the earpiece body sits comfortably behind your ear. The earpieces will also announce which side they are as they are turned on.

4. How do you turn on the Whisper Brain?

The Whisper Brain can be turned on and off by pressing and holding the Settings button.

5. How do you switch between settings on the Brain?

To adjust the settings, press the Settings button on the Whisper Brain. The Dynamic setting will automatically adjust sound wherever you are. The Custom setting can be configured to optimize for different situations. Your hearing care professional will need to first set up the Custom setting or you can adjust this in the Whisper app.

6. How do you control the volume of the system?

With the Whisper Brain turned on, press the Volume buttons to change the volume. Every time you increase or decrease the volume, a short sound will play to confirm the level. The Brain has volume control from 1-10 in ~2 dB increments. You can also adjust the volume using the Whisper app.

7. How do I clean my Whisper Hearing System?

Have your hearing care professional show you how to safely maintain your system. You can clean the Whisper earpieces with the cleaning brush provided with your Whisper Hearing System. You can also use a tissue to wipe down the earpieces and domes.

8. How often should I replace the domes?

Promptly replace domes every 3 months or if discolored or clogged. If you are having trouble, please call your hearing care professional.

1. What does the Whisper app do?

You can use the Whisper app to adjust your earpieces’ volume (separately or together) and settings from your phone. Additionally, you can use the app to check the battery level of the Whisper Brain, and if the earpieces are connected to the Brain.

In the future, you will be able to receive software upgrades through the app.

2. How do I download the Whisper app?

3. Does the Whisper app work on Android phones?

We are working on an Android version of the Whisper app.

4. Which mobile devices work with the Whisper app?

The Whisper app is supported on iPhones 7 and higher running iOS 13 and up. We are working on a version of the Whisper mobile app for Android. Android users can still use the system without the mobile app.

Yes, the Whisper Hearing System can be used without a smartphone.

2. Which devices can I connect to my Whisper Hearing System?

The Whisper Hearing System currently supports hands-free phone calls on the following devices:

3. How do I connect my Whisper Hearing System to my phone?

For iPhones:

1. Press the Settings and Volume Up buttons on the Whisper Brain at the same time until the light on the Brain starts pulsing blue.
2. Go to your iPhone’s Settings and tap “Bluetooth.”
3. Tap “Whisper Brain” under “Other Devices.” Now the Brain is connected to the phone.

For Google phones:

1. Press the Settings and Volume Up buttons on the Whisper Brain at the same time until the light on the Brain starts pulsing blue.
2. Go to the phone’s Settings and tap “Connected devices.”
3. Tap “Pair new device.”
4. Tap “Whisper Brain” under “Available Devices.”
5. Tap “Pair” on the “Pair with Whisper Brain?” prompt. Now the Brain is connected to the phone.

For Samsung phones:

1. Press the Settings and Volume Up buttons on the Whisper Brain at the same time until the light on the Brain starts pulsing blue.
2. Go to the phone’s Settings and tap “Connections.”
3. Tap “Bluetooth.”
4. Tap “Whisper Brain” under “Available Devices.”
5. Tap “OK” on the “Bluetooth pairing request” prompt. Now the Brain is connected to the phone.

Whisper is available via a simple monthly plan. This plan includes a lease of the Whisper Hearing System, ongoing care from a local hearing care professional, regular software upgrades, and a 3 year warranty including loss and damage coverage. We are offering a special introductory offer of $139/month (normally $179).

2. Will my insurance cover the cost of Whisper?

The Whisper Hearing System is a hearing aid regulated by the FDA and may be eligible for some insurance plans or FSA plans. Since there are many different kinds of insurance benefits, we encourage consumers to talk with their insurance provider or hearing care professional around the specifics of their coverage.

3. What happens to the Whisper Hearing System at the end of my monthly plan?

At the end of your plan, you can choose to renew your plan and receive a hardware upgrade. If you choose to not renew, you may return your Whisper Hearing System to your hearing care professional.

1. What should I do if there’s a red blinking light on the Brain?

If one of the Brain lights is blinking red, the system needs to be recharged.

2. What should I do if the Brain isn’t charging?

If your Whisper Brain does not turn on, please press the Settings button for 3 seconds. If this does not work, please hold both the up and down volume buttons at the same time for 15 full seconds. Additionally, if the Whisper Brain battery level is low, you will need to charge the Brain.

4. What should I do if no sound is coming from the system?

Please check the system in this order:
1) Check to see if the earpiece battery trays are fully closed. If not, close the tray.
2) Replace the earpiece battery.
3) Check to see if the earpiece is clogged. If so, clean the wax guard or replace the dome on the earpiece.

The Whisper Brain works wirelessly with the earpieces to enable our proprietary Sound Separation Engine and is the hub for the system’s learning capabilities. Overall, it adds another layer of control and performance. If you prefer to not carry the Whisper Brain with you for certain situations, the Whisper earpieces will simply work like traditional hearing aids.

The Whisper Brain will last approximately 16 hours from a 5 hour charge, and the earpieces have a 675 battery that lasts 4-5 days under typical usage conditions. You should charge the Whisper Brain each night for at least 5 hours.
